I Have Actually Been Using the Life Chart App I Vibe-Coded
In my previous post, I wrote about a small app that I vibe-coded to track how I spend my time.
The first version was quite simple. I could add activities, give them tags, and look at a chart showing how much time I spent on work, personal development, fun, family, sleep, and other parts of my life.
Since June, I have continued using and improving it.
I did not really expect to become this committed to the app. It started as a concept, but it has slowly become something that I genuinely use to manage my tasks and understand where my time is going.
Moving Away From Other Productivity Apps
Over time, I have moved away from ClickUp and several other applications that I previously used to monitor tasks and organise my time.
I still adore Things 3. It is a beautifully crafted application made by a proper team. There are also many project-management applications with advanced databases, automations, statuses, and other powerful features.
But I realised that I did not need most of those things for this particular part of my life.
When I used different productivity applications, I often spent a lot of time connecting one application to another. Information would be stored across different platforms and databases. Sometimes I felt like I was spending more time managing the system than looking at what I actually needed to do.
My Life Chart app is much more direct.
I open it, add my tasks, complete them, and see how they affect the different areas of my life.
What Has Changed Since the First Version?
The app has slowly grown based on how I actually use it.

These are not features that I planned from the beginning.
Most of them were added because I used the app and noticed something that was missing or slightly annoying.
Now that I am going back to work, for example, I wanted a simple way to see only tasks with the Work tag. I do not want to look at all my personal tasks while I am trying to focus on work.
The quick-completion buttons came from the same kind of problem. I did not want to manually adjust the time every time I completed a small task. If something took around 15 or 30 minutes, I just wanted to press a button and let the app add that time into the analysis.
Looking at the Different Parts of My Life
I now use the to-do section according to the same areas shown in the chart.
I add things that I want to do for:
- Personal development
- Fun
- Work
- Family and social
- Chores
- Other parts of my life
To be honest, social activities are something that I often do not care much about and usually want to avoid.
Seeing that in the chart does not suddenly change my personality. But it makes the pattern more visible. It helps me think more actively about whether I am happy with how I spend my time or whether there is something I want to adjust.
That was always the main idea behind the app.
I wanted something that could help me see what I was doing instead of relying only on what I thought I was doing.
This idea came from a YouTuber I watched a long time ago. Unfortunately, I can no longer trace the original video or remember who made it. But the idea of treating life as live data stayed with me for years.
A Very Personal Application
I do not know how beneficial this app would be to everyone else.
It has been vibe-coded around my specific needs. It is not heavily crafted by a development team like Things 3, and it does not include the huge database systems found in many project-management applications.
It also does not need account management.
The app runs locally, and the main data can be exported as JSON. There is no personal productivity database being managed through an application backend somewhere else.
This is important to me because the information is very personal. It includes my tasks, how I spend my time, how much I sleep, what I avoid, and what I want to improve.
I like having control over that information.
I also like being able to decide how the app should work. If I notice that something does not suit me, I can change it instead of trying to force my habits into the structure of another application.
Using AI to Have More Control
Although I hand over much of the coding and appearance to AI, the process has actually given me more control over my productivity system.
Developing everything myself would take much more time. I would need to focus on the programming, design, testing, and all the small technical details.
With AI, I can focus more on explaining what I need the app to do.
I still make the decisions about the features, how the information should be organised, and what would make the app useful in my daily life. AI helps me turn those decisions into something that I can use.
This is not an application I created to make something remarkable.
It is a small, straightforward, local management application that helps me organise my life and understand myself a little better.
The original version helped me see where my time was going. The current version also helps me decide what I want to do next.
I am still using it, still changing it, and still finding out what it should become.
